Getting to Brooklyn
What apt should I fly into?
We strongly recommend flying into LaGuardia Airport (LGA) since this is the closest NYC-area airport to Greenpoint, Brooklyn. John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) is a good alternative if you are unable to find flights to LGA, although it will be a longer drive to get to Brooklyn.
Either of these airports will be a better option than Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), which can often be over a 90 minute Uber ride into Brooklyn.
Whe should I stay?
For those who are visiting, we have secured a discount code for rooms at The Penny Williamsburg. The hotel is 2 stops away from our reception venue by subway, or less than a 10 minute Uber ride away. If you choose to use the discount code, please use this link.
However, you are welcome to stay wherever suits you and your trip best. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have questions about different neighborhoods or need advice when picking your accommodations.
Getting Around
H do I get to the welce pty?
McCarren Parkhouse at McCarren Park is right between the neighborhoods of Williamsburg and Greenpoint. We recommend you take the subway or call an Uber to get there.
If you choose to take the subway, McCarren Park is easiest to walk to from either the L or G trains. If you take the L, exit at Bedford Avenue and walk 10 minutes to the Parkhouse. If you take the G, exit at Nassau Avenue and walk 4 minutes to the Parkhouse.
If you choose to take an Uber, we recommend getting dropped off at the intersection of Lorimer Avenue & Driggs Avenue. You won’t be able to be dropped off right at the Parkhouse since it’s located inside McCarren Park, but it will be a quick walk away.
If in doubt, use Google Maps and search “McCarren Parkhouse” to see exactly where in the park it’s located.
H do I get to the reception venue?
The Neptune Room is located in the heart of Greenpoint. We recommend you take the subway or call an Uber to get there.
If you choose to take the subway, our venue is about three blocks away from the Greenpoint Avenue stop on the G train. Once you arrive at the station, exit at the northwest corner of Greenpoint Avenue & Manhattan Avenue for the shortest walk to the venue.
If you are taking an Uber, please use the corner of Greenpoint Avenue & West Street as the pickup & dropoff location. Our venue is located on a cul-de-sac so this will help avoid congestion in front of the venue.
We do not recommend driving and there is no dedicated parking lot. If you choose to drive, please leave ample time for street parking in the neighborhood. You can also choose to park at some of the nearby public parking garages though please keep in mind that space may be limited. The closest public parking garage is at 21 India Street.
H do I get to cee the mning aft?
Dayglow, in Bushwick, is easiest to get to by either the subway or an Uber. If you take the subway, take the L train to the Morgan Avenue stop. From there, it’s about a 10 minute walk to the coffee shop.
If you want to take an Uber, you can request a drop off right at Dayglow.
If you want to drive, it should be easy to find street parking on a nearby side street on a Sunday morning. Although we don’t expect parking to be difficult, as with any city, be sure to leave a few extra minutes to find a spot.
